LSU QB commit Chris Garrett of Tupelo HS was
9-21 for 225 yards and 2tds (9 & 43 yds) 0 int in a 41-14 win over Southaven. Next week Tupelo faces South Panola HS....82-0 in there last 82 games including a lopsided win over Apopka HS in Florida The #1 6A school in Florida. We'll see what Garrett is made of this week.

Just over 64%. The thing that I like is that he only has 1 int this year vs about 20-25 td passes.

The guy throws a great pass, but he will need to be protected against South Panola. The game Tupelo lost this year, he was sacked 8 times and had numerous QB hurries. He is not very mobile at all, but given time he can definitly throw it.

Snapperhead,

Do you have any idea where Bumphis will sign? I have a feeling that it will be State.

Thanks.

Bumphis has been very tight-lipped about it. Even his teammates don't know. I think he'll go to Miss State unless Bama or Texas Tech make a strong push for him. I'm going to the Tupelo/South Panola game this Friday. I'll see what I can find out. I went to Baldwin vs Belmont last week. Nobody on those teams that we would be interested in.

He will need great protection against South Panola to win. In the game he lost, he played one of the fastest and most athletic d lines in the state. He does throw the ball really well. One int in 5A ball in MS is very impressive!

Yes, I believe he was sacked 7 times in that game. I'm really hoping that Tupelo protects better and keeps it close against South Panola.
