I didn’t think I could feel any better seeing as they’re my home school and they’ve always been there. Aranda has been courting Allen since the spring, detailing to him that he’d be utilized in a Kendell Beckwith-like role on early downs, then shift to the outside in passing situations. That always has intrigued Allen.

In addition to his ability to stop the run and rush the passer, Allen’s pass-coverage skills have garnered the attention of LSU’s defensive coordinator, and the praise he received during last month’s camp has resonated with the elite prospect. “(Aranda) was saying I fit nicely in the defense and I’ve made a lot of improvement from the June camp to July,” Allen said, referring to his coverage skills. “He said I look more comfortable, like I know what I’m doing, and I look a whole lot better. It felt good knowing that my hard work is paying off.”
