Weren't all 3 of these 3-star rated?
Anyway, who are the best 3-stars we have had in your opinion.
I love it when we get the great guys under the radar.

Wasn't Morris Claiborne a 3 star?

Wasn't Hester a 2 Star? Seems like I heard him on the radio laughing saying he knocked LSU out of the #1 ranked recruiting class that year.

TM7 was a 4 star by the end of his senior year

Think Mo was a 2 star, no? I could be wrong...

I thought Mo was a 3star WR IIRC

Ok, I was wrong. Rivals had Mo as a 3 star, #58 at his position, and #21 in LA.

There was a bunch of film that came out near the end of the recruiting season showing him stopping all the elite receivers from making catches on him and he ended up getting bumped to a four star soon after he committed to LSU.

TM was a top 200 player. At his size and for how early he committed, that's not overlooked.

Only on rivals at the end did honey badger get 4 star . Also when he committed his other schools were SMU , Tulane , etc ...
I will take 3 star recruits like the honey badger and Racey

Sorry Skullhawk I accidentally downvoted you. Thanks for the clarification. Funny how some of these prospects are 2 and 3 star recruits then when a big name school offers them they jump up a notch. Tre White was not highly thought of then when LSU offered him and he went to some camps his stock went through the roof.

Mo Claiborne was listed as a 3* athlete

That's what I thought too. I stopped paying attention to Rivals a long time ago. I remember TM as a 3 star on the services I was following back then.

And? They were all unranked at some point. TM is not the guy to throw into the Hester lore this board is obsessed with. You realize these threads happen EVERY time LSU gets a 3* commitment. It stinks of insecurity.
No one knows how McMath is going to turn out at the college level. He got his offer at camp and he's physically mature for his age. I'll go with those as positives.

Hell no Claiborne was a 5*

These services have a handful of guys ranking these players. They rely on college coaches and contacts on a lot of their determinations. I don't think that's a negative mark against them.
They've gotten better at identifying the elite. Check the 2014 rankings and the list of early entries for the 2017 draft.
Guys will always slip through the cracks. Too many guys to evaluate, physical maturity is all over the place at those ages, camps are given too much weight over actual play, etc.
