We need tackles, and this guy looks to be way underrated at the moment.

He's due to move up in the rankings

He will eventually. He's far from a finished product, but they give high rankings to project guys with a very high upside every year in recruiting.

He'll be a low 4 star based on potential alone, but could move into the top 100 if he improves a lot during his senior year.

We BADLY need some OTs, and Cameron Wire will be a good one. Great signing guys. I wanna see us sign another good OT or two for me to be satisfied though.

His body type reminds me a lot of La'el Collins' during his junior year of high school

Respectfully disagree. La'el was athletic enough to play OT in college, but his frame was not as lean as Cameron or as rangy. Collins plays OG in the pro's and hes an all pro talent at his position, but Wire will fill out and be a perfect fit for OT. He will be the perfect counter to the Tim Williams, Myles Garret types. He needs to bulk up enough to be a formidable run blocker, but his specialty will be pass rush blocking.

He reminds me more of the jumbo TE that has the frame to fill out and the athleticism to protect the edge from collapsing the pocket. He may take 2 years to fill out and develop, but this was the single biggest need in this class IMO. We desperately need athletic OT's (preferably with huge wingspans) to counter these growing number of DE or OLB rush specialist freaks like Arden Key and Chassion.

I cant wait to see the battles at practice between him(once he develops) and Chassion/Anthony/Martin/Thorton.

I am super excited about this pick up. Kid has a high ceiling, and it will be HUGE if he develops into an ALL-SEC left tackle. He may very well be a 3 year starter, and if he gains enough weight between now and fall of '18 - he would be great on obvious rushing downs for 3rd and long.

Huge get - and I would still love to add two more big time OT's.

Collins had to play guard for Dallas, he didn't have a choice because their OT's are beast, but he wanted to play OT. He did it for Dallas he said because it's Dallas and you don't ask questions, you just play ball for one of the great pro franchises in the NFL. Their OLine is ridiculous!

Most important position of need by far are 2 or 3 tremendous tackles IMO. Followed then by 2 elite RB's, 4 elite WR's, 1 massive top notch NG, and 1 or 2 phenomenal CB's.

I'm super stoked by this commitment, and hope we reel in Rafiti Ghirmai and one more. Glad to see us starting to reel in some offensive recruits. Defense will always be my first love, but with our depth and Aranda - there is less to worry about. I wanna see us rail it on the offensive recruiting this cycle, we need it.

O keep signing those damn 3 star talents, what the hell is wrong with him?? I'ma run his fat arse out of town, he's bringing LSU's talent level down. Lmao, of course because I'm not serious y'all! But some people on here really feel that way. Lol

Wire is a tremendous get and will be an awesome OT once he fills out. But there's still more to come like the big kid from Texas, what is it Rafati Ghirmai I think?? strange name. Lol And huge kitten Kardell Thomas, although, I think they are making a mistake on not recruiting his teammate, big Cedric Thomas. He can provide excellent depth at center and OG.

No doubt, and I do think Collins is versatile, but I honestly think he's built more to be an even more elite OG than OT. It's not that he couldn't or wouldnt succeed at OT.

Elite OT's feet have insane footwork, can react with lighting speed, have long arms, are strong enough to handle the bullrush, but are quick enough to back peddle to keep pace with pass rush DE's like Key who can fake inside then race around and cut the corner by getting skinny.

Wire is rangy, and quick. He seems to have a really high ceiling in that department. He is long and lean. I have heard that since more teams use a 3-4 now a days, and Weak side DE's and or rush OLB's are naturally evolving from bulky Strong side DE types, to rangy, think, athletic, quick twitch guys. So to counter these types, while strength is still super important, quick feet, athleticism, elite reaction speed, and long arms are now at a premium.

Wire has all the tools, he just needs some experience under his belt, and to add more strength by adding lean muscle without sacrificing his quickness.

Kardell Thomas is a damn beast. He plays OG with the same fire that Mathieu played nickle, Adams played Safety, Jarvis Landry played WR, and Guice plays RB. I enjoy watching people who play so passionately its almost violent until the whistle is blown. I absolutely love his film, dude is a mauler and will make the difference against Bama and their DL up the center.

We do have lots of depth at Guard, the middle of the line is what Im most comfortable with, its the edge that is thin.

You meant Cedric Banks, I think. I looked up his 24/7 profile and he has no offers listed. I wonder what gives. His first rep he looked a bit slow, but then displays great footwork and leverage as the reps go on. See below.

yeah, Banks is who I mean, sorry, and thanks. I saw him compete at another camp earlier in 2016. The kid can play and has good foot work, size and all, he has been used primarily at center for Lab with some offensive guard work here and there also. I know LSU got a commit from this Miss kid I think he's from at center, but I still think Banks could be a good pick up as well that would add quality depth. I mean Marcus Randall played at LSU so I'm sure he knows what LSU expects from those kids.

Oh, and Im calling it now. Canada will call this same play with Wire at some point in Wires college career if he progresses anywhere near his ceiling.

Do you know if his profile is up to date? Just because it doesnt show he doesnt have other offers, doesnt mean its accurate. If not though, is there a specific reason. The kid definitely should be getting offers, at worst, non P5 schools. Are grades or something else a concern, or is the info just out of date?

yeah, he can call it with Wire or Kardell. You should go and watch big Kardell motor his big arse really fast around the track field competing for Lab in the relays.
