Great to hear Brossette is sticking with the tigers. I feel like the combination of Brossette & Guice could be another Toefield/Davis tandem.

Obviously, LSU had better QB play, but I think the potential is there. Just an exciting thought I had.

Geaux Tigers!

Next year's backfield has the potential to be the best ever with a 5 deep like that.

I think that's a good comparison

Big shoes to fill - they were a handful and had great complimentary styles (DD could probably have played anything except down lineman).

I'm very excited about a LF7/DW/NB/DG backfield - or as I say, thunder, more fricking thunder, even more thunder, and yes, more thunder.

How About The Dalton/James Gang, that to me was the best duo.

Let's put it this way - they were the 5th (James - Detroit) and 6th (Hilliard - New Orleans) running backs taken in the 1986 NFL draft - a mere 2 picks apart at the beginning of the 2nd round.

BTW - of those top 6 running backs in 1986 - 3 were born in Louisiana, including James and Hilliard (Reggie Dupard played for SMU and went to the Pats in the penultimate pick of the 1st round).

Yeah, that was strictly nostalgia speaking. James was barely good enough to make it in the pros. Hilliard deserves to be mentioned among the elite LSU backs. Hilliard and James are not even in the conversation for best stable.

That's not what I was saying at all - to have 2 stablemates go that closely, and that high in the same NFL draft gives credence to the strength of the tandem. And I don't care what they did in the pros, James had an injury bug, but when healthy he was a great back. He lost his job at Detroit when they "drafted some rookie" - (#20 an undersized kid out of Oklahoma State. )
