Watching film on Brennan, he looks really good. Strong arm and good movement. Why isn't he a 5-star or higher up on the boards? I know it ultimately doesn't matter, but he looks as good as most other QBs if you watch their film.

No, he's got a lot of growing to do, and they factored in his poor competition

The played one team with a pulse this year, Brother Martin, and got beat 42-7. His competition was really poor.

I understand that, but every all-star type of even he goes to, he still outperforms most QBs.

No he is ranked about right. He does a lot of things above average to good but isn't elite at any one thing.

Ridley went to a small school, yes. Brennan does not go to a small school. His competition is just flat out awful.

Brennan did lead stanislaus to the title game as a junior, but got beat by one of the premier programs in the state, noxubee county, and Jeffrey Simmons -- 5 star DE now at State

Go look where Johnny Manziel, Marcus Mariota, Baker Mayfield and Robert Griffin III were ranked.

Not true. Nike NOLA - another QB won it. Elite 11 ranked 6. AL/MS game he struggled. He's underweight and plays poor comp. 5 stars generally check all the boxes.

Depends if you are talking about his ranking against all positions or his ranking as a QB. He made the Elite 11 and made an impression. QB is the hardest position to accurately rank because you don't know how they will respond when they are faced with college level pressure. Bama started the year with a roster full of studs yet the guy that I'd heard the least about moves to the top of their depth chart. JFF wasn't a 5* but he had the ability to escape pressure while looking for the developing plays downfield. Being 6'6" and able to sling it 75yds looks good on paper but what happens when guys like Arden Key, Miles Garrett, or Tim Williams are closing in and can outrun the QB. High school pressure isn't like college pressure and it's another step up to the NFL where everyone is fast.

Harris is a great athlete but he wasn't looking for the play while he was running from pressure. Etling wasn't as good an athlete but he was better at feeling pressure and looking for the play. Brennan can throw the football with accuracy and he's better than average with his feet. That's a good start.

It's one thing to preform well at camps, it's another to do it against good competition. Like someone posted, against Brother Martin (the only decent team he played) he didn't do much

To play a TEAM like Brother Martin a 5A TEAM with a talent pool from the NO area with a Team from BSL,MS with 300 kids from 7th thru 12th grade is a tall order for any individual athlete. It is not an indication of how the one athlete performed when participating in a team sport and being dependant on the other 10 team mates to compete as a unit against a superior foe... what's so hard to understand and why would you judge one player based on the performance of a team of 22 individuals unless you are bias.
