I think we did but when it became apparent that we were getting Blakeney he started looking elsewhere. St. Johns has picked up some good LA players the last few years.

We had a great shot. He wanted major playing time early, and he wasn't going to get it with Hornsby and Blakeney next year.

Bad move ask Craig Victor! Hornsby has one year left. The stud may only stay one year. He would have gotten lots of time. You get a few more minutes at St. John's but you 3000 miles away from home. NYC is not BR. Good luck son.

I hope your right. Difference is St. John's like Arizona is going to continue to get top talent especially guards from NYC. Could mean a log jam. I wish him well.

Sampson had used an official to visit St John's this past fall, so it wasn't completely unforeseen. But yeah, a lot of the more recent smoke was coming out of the west coast (UCLA and Cal particularly).

We had no shot once Blakeney committed, and I still say I like Jacob Evans more than Sampson. That's the true miss IMO.
