sure, that's why camp offers exist. He's offered. He just can't commit until he camps. The offer/no-offer thing is tricky but I can't see why you'd let any kid go away feeling disrespected in a case like this. He has an offer. The conditions surrounding that offer don't need to be accentuated

If a kid feels disrespected because was asked to earn something, that says way more about the kid than anyone else.

I see his point of view. He should spend time at schools that are actually interested in him.

I would bet that the quote is inaccurate as to his true feelings. After all, it is a quote. NOne of us were there, so take it for what it's worth.
