Kaylen Madrey is now officially committed to LSU

She is the #11 ranked player in the country for 2021

She had interest from OU, Florida, Mizzou, Michigan, Auburn, Tennessee, FSU.

Primarily an infielder but can play in the outfield, out from Georgia and plays for Thunderbolts travel team

Power hitter and one of the most dynamic players in the entire class. She was on everyone's list

2021 now has two top 12 players! Redoutey and Madrey are among the best hitters in the entire country. Both are power hitters

LSU's recent success will truly be felt in 2018 classes and forward. The most recent classes were already practically assembled before LSU's recent dominance and WCWS appearances.

2020 and 2021 are both top 5 classes.

Torina always recruited well but not at this level from what we are now seeing. We are now much closer to recruiting classes much like OU with a class FULL of elite caliber players.

LSU's classes under Torina

2012:19
2013: 16
2014: 11
2015: 17
2016: 2
2017: 13
2018: 8
2019: 6
2020: 2
2021: 3

2019, 2020, 2021 is filled with a lot of power hitters as well.

Softball recruiting has been kicking arse lately. Looks like they'll be very good for a very long time if they keep this up.

The important thing about this announcement is that Kaylen Madrey has made a decision regarding her future thanks to the trusted integrity and representation of our coaching staff.

Welcome on board Kaylan as this is a big decision young lady as we at LSU are thrilled to have you and hope things continue to work for you and LSU as the years turn.

Don't we need to bring in an elite pitcher in the near future?

Wickersham comes in next fall, she is elite. If her junior year was any indication of how she will progress this year, LSU will be in ood hands with her.

Lets see how Sunseri and Maribeth do this season

Also from what I am hearing we will likely add a good transfer from somewhere The staff is very aware we lose two AA pitchers, we will plan to reload for next season

You do realize that these are merely predictions based upon a subjective ranking system? I find it hilarious that you are touting these ranking like they are fact. These girls haven't even signed a LOI yet but woohoo!, we got the No. 2 ranked 2020 class and the No. 3 class in 2021. Looking forward to sitting down in 2025 and counting all of the Natties that LSU has from these classes.

Any ranking is subjective, that goes for all sports

Jesus you are one miserable person, you people would be the first ones bitching if we our classes didn't rank well. The players we have committed have been extremely successful playing the top players in the country. Its not just coincidence that they are ranked well. Why can't our fans be excited that we landed the top players

I don't know why you post in these threads

LOL. I post because someone has to be the voice of reason here. Who is the more miserable person? The one who brings a little bit of sanity or the person who gets excited and has to make a post every time that a 12 year "commits" to LSU softball. I don't give a rats arse about rankings. All I care about is how they perform once they get on campus. Ask Less Miles and Ed Orgeron how many Natties all of those highly ranked players have won for LSU the past few years.

One more thing about these rankings. I have had occasion over the past few years to visit with Brentt Eads who runs FloSoftball. He confessed that he hasn't actually seen many of the girls that he has ranked play and has instead relied upon information provided to him by travel ball coaches (a real unbiased source), high school coaches (another unbiased source) and confidential conversations with college coaches (a more reliable source than the former 2). These "rankings" that you tout serve no other purpose than to get people like yourself to fork over the $60/year subscription fee to FloSoftball.

You’re far from a voice of reason. You’re a voice of crap with an agenda. You must either be, or know, that educote clown. You most definitely sound like an armchair travel ball coach that thinks it knows more than a P5 college softball coach. Please list your credentials, other than your HoF travel ball coaching career...........

First to admit i don't know much about softball, but it seems a shutdown pitcher can best an all-star line up. Granted, you can't win w/o scoring but when a pitcher can starts every other or two out of three games, it appears that teams are better served to find two elite pitchers and build around them. That said, i'll trust the staff.
