Oh yea...they were generous and rolled out the red carpet that first week. After that, it became cleared we overstayed our welcome....prob a result of a few NOLA guys taking spots on their teams...anyway, they were some stuck up assholes. Never seen a whole school that full of themselves.
As for "shelter from the storm" my family still paid tuition and every other cost. As a matter of fact when we had to leave town on a whim, my step-dad went to drop some stuff off and make sure all was settled..apparently I had an outstanding lunch balance..... he made a comment about having just enough money to buy himself some lunch that day...he was in a bad way as he had just lost his clinic and obviously our house...they didn't GAF...said pay up now or we'll find a way to collect.
In short...they were welcoming and charitable when it cost them nothing and once the feeling good about themselves wore off, they didn't care.

Not at all....but judging from comment on the post some people seemed to think it was...so was setting that straight lol
I didn't expect anything....really not even kindness, but the fact is the kids that go there are snobs and having to spend time with them was less than pleasant.

I remember my dad saying LSU tuition was about the same as STM. It was expensive.
