BRYCE UNEXPECTEDLY POPS ONTO ROCKY TOP
Posted by John Taylor on March 14, 2009, 10:46 a.m. EDT
Three days ahead of his hugely anticipated (unanimously reviled?) announcement, running back Bryce Brown paid a visit to Tennessee to take in their “new brand of football”. Brown’s attendance at the first scrimmage of the Lane Kiffin Era was unexpected as it was assumed/thought he was finished visiting schools, whether it be officially or unofficially. The back explained that he wanted to “a better feel on what the players looked like on the field and how the coaches communicated with the players.” Even as the visit comes the weekend before he announces his school of choice, Brown warned that people shouldn’t read into the appearance. “I am not leaning to any school at this time,” Browns was quoted as saying on his handler Brian Butler’s website. “I will go back home and spend time with my family, and continue to pray for God’s clarity when it comes to my decision.” Calls to The Almighty seeking comment have yet to be returned, but it’s expected that He will allow Brown to choose between four schools: Tennessee, LSU, Kansas State and Oregon. While Brown says he’s not leaning toward any school right now, the word on the street is that LSU is currently the front-runner. Brown and his entourage will make his decision known this coming Monday as a press conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. CST at the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame. (The HOF? How pretentious. What, the governor’s mansion was already booked?)

So him taking two visits to Tenn makes LSU the front runner?

I call BS, Oregon/Tenn and that might not be a bad thing. Even if hes a good kid, hes surrounded by questionable people. Tenn's campus tramp making him fall in love.

Been no word from LSU insiders either, while Tenn insiders have been all over it.

He is a smart kid and an excellent runner. I hope he chooses LSU.

The rest of the BS surrounding him is just that. BS.

This kid is due for a awake up call. You can be great in High School and average in College.
Let some of these big SEC linemen lay a few licks on him. Way to much hype even if he turns out to be great...

Word is that Brown wanted to see Tenn's O-Line in action, and the style of offense. Im willing to bet although he was impressed with the excitement of it all, he was very less than impressed with the play of a terrible O-Line and there lack of ability to open holes.

Oh well, he wants to play for a bunch of clowns in Kiffin and Ogeron and a fossil in his dad Monte, good luck to him. I guarantee you, he will regret it. Kiffin will be done after 3 season and leave an ugly stain on a once, proud tradition at UT. They made a HUGE mistake in hiring this baffoon.

We might be the only team in college football history with three No.1 players in the nation...in the same signing class
