If I were a top college baseball recruit and wanted to play in front of large crowds all the time; wanted to play in front of people who know and appreciate good baseball; wanted to play in front of passionate fans; wanted to play for a team that often wins division titles; wanted to play for a team that often wins conference titles; wanted to play for a team that often wins conference tournament titles; wanted to play for a team that regularly hosts regionals and super regionals in a top notch ballpark; and wanted to play for a team that is almost always in the hunt for Omaha - where would I go?

How many real choices would I have to fit that bill? Just saying.

There's sometimes MILLIONS of reasons why a young man would go the professional route over college ball.

Clarification: The post was not about choosing pro over college, it was about choosing among college programs.

Man I must suck at posting. The whole point of the post was how LSU has so much to offer baseball recruits. Clearly we get top propspects.

I think everyone understands that LSU is the best place to play college baseball. There are only a few others that are even close. The problem is that we aren't competing with other colleges for recruits, we're competing with the MLB and money.

LSU is a great place to play, but we compete with lots and lots of colleges for top recruits.
