Bama over the limit

Bama had 24 commitments before tonight and added two more putting them one over the new limit of 25. Who's Nick going to pull an offer from?

I'm sure they will end up with more than 25 commits, but some won't make the grades and some will probably be offered greyshirts. Wonder if ESPN will do a story?

SEC rules don't apply to Bama. They can do whatever they want.

Also, remember, Alabama can backcount a couple greyshirts because they only signed 22 last year.

Three will be back counted to last year's class since they arrived on campus in January.

The new rule only allows a team to sign 25 to the incoming class. But there is also a new midyear exemption(sort of like backcounting) that allows a team to replace players on the current 85 who are not returning. I have seen a team can replace NFL early leaving, midyear graduates, and transfers, as long as this has been decided before a certian date.
Our sites have been reporting we will bring in 28 to 29 this year with 4 counting back. Also we have two that is been said are heading to JUCO and will not sign.
In regards to greyshirting you now take a big risk because now they can not delay their enrollment until next Jan and sign a NLI this Feb. That before would protect the school to keep the player now players could decide not to wait and enroll elsewhere.

The 25 rule doesn't affect the 2012 class. It will start with the 2013 class. Alabama only signed 22 in the 2011 class, but Aaron Douglass died. That leaves four spots to back-count with EEs.
