Austin Thomas is a beast

Barton Simmons posted a great article on 247 talking about how LSU was able to get Jacoby Stevens back. I won't copy and paste but if you have a 247 sub it's well worth the read. Paraphrasing:
Jacoby was a silent to UGA going into the summer. He visited Bama in June and started having second thoughts as they turned up the heat. At a Nashville satellite camp, four coaches from Bama including Lane Kiffin showed up, UGA's DC, and Austin Thomas. Some of the FCS staffers joked that LSU had sent an intern because Austin looks so young and not much like a coach.
The UGA and Bama coaches had to get back to campus for other camps, but they didn't want to be the first to leave. They got to together and struck a truce that they would all leave together, but they didn't think enough of Austin to invite him to the conversation. Everyone except Austin left.
Jacoby had been told going in "you're going to be coached by some great coaches at this camp but at the end of the camp, look and see who is still here." After that, it was all LSU.

Love the quote and part about one of the FCS coaches there looking at Kiffin and the Bama guys, then looking at Mel Tucker from UGA, then glancing and seeing the one guy from LSU. He says to Barton, "you know that guy isn't making any decisions for LSU". Barton then proceeds to correct him and says, "you're wrong on that read. That dude pushes weight."

I caught the tail end of A. Thomas leaving but missed him coming back.
I'm thrilled we got A. Thomas back he is like E. Orgeron running mate. I have read the young man knows his football.

The upswing in LSU recruiting and Austin Thomas coming on board a couple of years ago isn't a coincidence.
