Lots of people out west unhappy with that program...from the hiring of Sark to his firing to hiring Helton as the fulltime coach...lots of question marks with their leadership. Wouldn't surprise me if Austin got there, saw what things had become, and decided to kick rocks

Someone on 247 just pointed out that USC just hired Lynn Swann as AD so he might have wanted to bring in his own people.

Everyone's just speculating, but it makes sense.

he was assistant AD when he went there
