This Post and the mere thought of this comparison completely degrades our Team, its accomplishments, and most of all, what happened around the whole Penn State and Sandusky Situation. Please think of your implications before you post (not necessarily sentimental, but even the football related implications).

It was meant to bring perspective....reading some of the rants makes me think some people don't realize that it was just a loss, albeit a horrible loss.

That aside, i agree with your aforementioned point. I expected the boards to go buckwild after the loss. This is SEC country, and that to LSU (and we have arguably one of the most 'emotionally invested' crowds in the SEC). But the hysteria is ridiculous. It is only bringing the team, and the image of LSU's fan base, which is a major part in what recruits are considering atm. No recruit, regardless of how good he is, wants to come in and get the JJ fan treatment. They as students as well buy into the fanbase and the School as a whole (academics etc).

But as you said, it is exactly that, A loss. The bowls are mostly for drama and to add the exclamation point for the team, and to a decent extent, show case the talents of outgoing students especially with draft deadline and combines coming around the corner. Despite this loss, LSU is being regarded as the best prospect to win the Title Next year. With a seemingly better set of QB's, an insanely deep RB core, great Defensive Talent, and an OL with as much talent (albeit not as much experience as this years') is coming back. This is still a great time to be an LSU fan and this loss didn't change a thing.
