To be precise, the transfer takes two initial counter slots unless the transfer pays his way for a year. In that case, the transfer can be granted a scholarship like any walk-on.
Burrow was an initial counter his freshman year for Ohio State and was an initial counter his RSJR year for LSU.
I don't mind transfers, one way or the other. LSU can not sign 25 players a year without attrition.
Ideally, I would like to see limited transfers. I would like to see LSU signing less than 25 players a year because everyone was great and stayed until they graduated.
But the world is not ideal.

but it does help us with getting a roster #s back up from being depleted the last year..
