Are all of these great prospects okay academically or too early to tell?

I have not seen much posted about this & I have been wondering. It seems like every year, there are a few recruits that have trouble getting approved by the NCAA Clearing House, so I wanted to know if all these big names LSU is recruiting that could be the best class ever will be academically qualified? Are there any who are projected to struggle with either the test score or core grade average?

Those types of issues usually do not get brought up until it gets closer to NSD.
Unless its someone like Hoza Scott who will not qualify no matter what and everyone knows early.

This year we've known about the kids for a while now. If there was any kind of slip up everyone would know. It sounds like most of these kids do well in the classroom.

If you didn't have different standards for qualifying and admittance, then the clearinghouse wouldn't exist.

Anyone know if Rishard Robinson has made it in yet?

They just now sent off the final transcripts to clearinghouse. Should be on campus by the time school starts.

Why are the transcripts sent so late in the process?

The reason isn't different standards; it is to insure that there are at least some standards.

In this case, the rules are in place to make a level baseline for athletes thus prohibiting certain schools from lowering their academic standards in order to get more athletes. It's pretty simple.
On the flip, it does nothing to stop schools from having high standards as we saw a few years ago when we lost a recruit to Oklahoma because he didn't take the right math classes to get into LSU.
(Why does LSU require a math/science combo that nobody else does is a better question).

Every SEC member has the requirement because it is an SEC rule. Many SEC teams were big into JC player and the SEC was sensitive to academics, so they added the rule. It really isn't a big deal unless you don't know about it and didn't take it like Loadholt.
