Kudos to him for not playing into their game.

I'll be rooting for him at La Tech

I definitely favored this kid.

I'm not one to knock a player based on size.
He will easily hit the league from LA tech. No one in that conference will come close to outperforming this dude on Saturdays.

Best Wishes to him. Really wanted him in this class.

If we get Harris, that will make this sting a little less. Amik is all world with the ball in his hands. Harris is all world in flying to the ball.
Take your pick.

More than anything, now that Amik is out of the fold, I'm hoping we get Tyler Taylor.
Dude is a straight freak.

Must mean all our spots have been taken by A list players. I feel bad he was left out. He has everything except size.

The LSU offer was very much on the table regardless of what Harris does (It will be LSU), but Amik was sold on the opportunity to play both ways and be featured in the return game. Tech has recruited incredibly well given what they are and the size of Ruston. They have a handful of guys on their roster who were four-star recruits and they've loaded up with 3-stars and Louisiana's second tier players the past few years.

Louisiana's second tier just so happens to be on par with half the nation's top tier

If he is 1/2 the gamer that folks are claiming about him - regsrdless of size - LSU should've gone all out for him - playmakers are few and far between and make the difference between wins and losses and championships. The TM comparison has been made a lot and I agree there likely will never be another that matches up with TM - but , if he's a late bloomer in gaining height and strength, he will likely be a star!

Tech has pulled several kids this year with SEC Offers. I guess they're selling them cautionary tales of people like Paul Turner. Don't go to the SEC and sit for 3 years then come here and play 1-2. Come here from the start, play 4 years, and go to the league. Tech surprisingly has a high number of NFL players at the moment. Not LSU obviously, but up there with names you wouldn't expect.

Happy I'll get to see this young man play for 4 years. Welcome Amik!!

ETA: Tech has 15 players in the NFL at the moment.

I think it does...tells me we must feel pretty good about filling this class with high-end targets.

This is what I love to see. A kid good enough for LSU, but just couldn't make it in with the numbers, choosing Tech instead of going off to the bigger school out of state just b/c it's bigger. He will get coached up and on the field early in Ruston. The last several years Tech as been putting talent in the NFL and that trend looks to continue.

If Amik isn't making this class at LSU- wow. Talk about an amazing haul for the Tigers!
