We know budget is an issue but there are creative ways to achieving the same outcomes. I've found that a lot of high school coaches don't put enough effort at getting kids names out their as well. If you can give the kid everything he needs to succeed than they will stay.

That makes sense for every recruit NOT named Dylan Moses. This guy was on the cover of ESPN The Magazine and received offers as an 8th grader. Getting his name out was never an issue and playing at U-High certainly didn't deprive him of resources.

He left for other reasons which are understandable. I'm talking about someone getting scared IMG will take recruits just because they play a football game in louisiana. Not a recruit that has been feeling the national pressure since he was in 8th grade.

Not a single kid who plays at img has any problem getting recognized at their original school. Every single one is already all over college radars.

Neville is stacked again. They have not lost in 2 years ( last loss to Longview in Battle of the Border). They have 4 or 5 SEC players on defense.

What does WM have this year? John Curtis vs WM is a great matchup.

Kinda. Neville is the only passing school in the Monroe City Schools system. They can have anyone they want. Obviously they don't go and get everyone. If that was the case Cam Lewis would've suited up for them. I'm not saying they're out there recruiting all of the Monroe talent. I'm saying Monroe kids can go there since the rest of the schools are failing.

Return a lot. 3 with Power 5 offers and a couple more with other D1 offers. If they don't win this year, something is wrong. Far too much talent on this team not to at least make it to the Dome. Several players were moved around in the Spring. We will have to see what exactly they will do with them in the Fall. I reserve judgement until we actually see a couple of games and see what the coaches do with the players/where they put them.

It's been strange to see WM not being in the 5a spotlight as of recently. Neville has been absolutely loaded since being able to grab the best athletes from Carroll and Wossman to come to their already stacked roster. I know WM is expected to win state every year but do you think they will? I know they have a good QB or RB I can't really remember the position who has been plagued by injuries the past couple years don't they? Is he supposed to be healthy going into this season?

One of the reasons the La schools are playing other La schools is that LHSAA has their District realignment (2 year contracts for FB schedules) on odd years. Most other states (Texas, Ok, Fla, etc) redistrict on even years. It's hard for LHSAA schools to find out of state games because one team is gonna be left high and dry the following year.

I understand, but not if they sign up for this event for 2 years. The LA teams aren't scheduling the games in the event right? They're just committing to play and the event coordinators are making the match ups right?

No I just love louisiana high school football. My dad coached for 30 years so it has always been a big part of my families fall entertainment. And img is the epitome of everything wrong with sport. And it's all based on a fallacy. None of the players that go there need the extra attention. Img doesn't pick diamonds out of the rough they get these kids after their name blows up. And the extra training and coaching might at best make them slightly more prepared as a freshman but after a year in college it is all a wash anyway.

And I'm not saying they should be forced to shut down by whoever would have that authority. If kids and their families want to go there that is their right I'm just saying coaches and principals should refuse to play them. I know a bunch of coaches in louisiana have said that their players won't be participating in those traveling 7 on 7 tourneys that img gets a ton of their players from. If they couldn't find games the draw would quickly go die down.

those tournaments help get kids' names out there, not only for IMG but also for the actual colleges they want to go to. Coaches that shun those tournaments do so at their own risk...

bottom line is kids can find an elite program easier than those programs can find elite kids... never begrudge those kids for doing what they think is best for them and their recruitment. they only get one chance at it.

Most don't care if the kids names get out and they're recruited. They only care about what the kid can do for them and their team. They don't want to add risk/get guys injured in camps/7v7.

in this day and age, if a HS coach has a reputation as being unfriendly to recruiting, players should run, not walk away if they have any dreams of playing at the next level...
