Jimmy runs/owns the LSU site on Rivals. He doesn't need the Bootleggers for him to be relevant. This is so freaking stupid to say.

The two are definitely tied together. He gets a lot of his info by being imbedded in the recruits lives through the 7 on 7 stuff. It gives him an easy avenue to create a relationship and dialogue with his own players, those player's coaches, and opposing players and coaches.

To act that the bootleggers is nothing more than a hobby for Jimmy is a ridiculous premise.

BTW, I don't think the kids did anything wrong. I just find it hysterical that Ree is trying to paint Jimmy Detail as anything more than a recruiting reporter and 7 on 7 coach. He didn't create an industry and he doesn't coach 7 on 7 out of the goodness of his heart.

The high school coaches have lost this battle. 7 on 7 is here to stay and is a great developmental tool. The high school coaches just don't like what they can't control. And now their relegated to "Get off My Lawn!" comments on Twitter.

Don't know who the guy is but someone responded to either him or another coach who had a negative comment. They brought up the language they use in front of their kids in practice. The coach never responded.

This may simply be a case of the kettle calling the pot.

All these coaches that get a favorable mark for an extra yard or more time on the clock than should be when they are down. And set a good example for their players and immediately point it out and have it corrected are fun to watch when they lay their set of beliefs on others.

Coaches are the most righteous people in the world. They should replace all of the clergy with high school coaches.

Sorry, didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I think your comment in the tweet was excellent and 7on7 should be banished from existence.

How's that, Coach?

there just needs to be a little more control over 7 on 7 like other states have... such as using real coaches, real refs, and having the sanction of the state association.

In Louisiana?

May as well just shut it down. Would just become another corrupt money grab for the politicians.

Their recruiting careers and money being taken from families is doomed if there’s no 7v7 in Louisiana......no choice but to cause trouble and try to fend off the HS coaches.

They have refs out there, most of whom referee high school games in the fall.

What do you mean by "real" coaches?

And the last thing anybody wants is the state association involved in this. It's a horrible organization.

Recruiting will not go away - WITH or WITHOUT 7v7.

People in this thread think 7on7 is some kind of lifeblood for the recruiting services. IT ISN'T.

The only connection is that the recruiting guys go to the tournaments and put film on Twitter. Just like the combine camps.

You are counting the number of posts another poster makes. Like you are the board police or something. You should be so ashamed that you self ban yourself from the recruiting board forever.

As much as you provide here it will be a big blow to everyone but I think we can eventually recover. Like in 5 or 10 seconds if not much sooner.

I have always defended you Ree. That’s why, in the spirit of LSU brotherhood, I’m going to tell you to listen to Maximus. Take a break.

seven-on-seven is glorified practice. I don't have any issues with it as long as it doesn't cause fights on those fields and as long as they don't bring that mess to their school practicing and games

No, he’s just correctly telling you that you jumped the shark a dozen posts ago. People have told me that too . It happens. Nothing personal man just keeping it real- but at this point you are pretty much being insufferable.
