The kid from Catholic that drilled a 35 yarder to win last night is also a junior.

LSU needs to convince some local kickers to walk on.

Somebody that almost makes a 69 yard field goal isn't going to be a walk on. Now teams can get creative with how that education is funded but there aren't a whole lot of kickers out there that would have made a 65 yard field goal.

As a former skipper I hope this kid gets a scholly to kick in college, just not here. I saw some games early in the year of him missing badly from 20 yards and in. Plus the only joy I get out of Domangue missing kicks is that I get to troll St. Paul's alum about it. I would hate to see that get thrown back in my face in the future. Seriously good luck to the kid though.

Do they still kick off tees in high school?

About 1/2 the prep kickers out there can occasionally blast a ball 50+.... Another 25% can occasionally hit 60+.... College coaches are not looking for a low percentage long ball....they are looking for accuracy and repeatability.

If you are saying 1 out of 4 high school kickers can occasionally hit a 60 plus yard fied goal, I have to call bullshite.

I played with Blake Bercegeay at E.A. He hit a 59 yarder in a game, and at least two other 50 plus yarders. Was surprised he wasn't asked to walk on. To be honest, he was strange AF. So, that might have contributed to it.

No way- change prep kickers to college kickers and you may have an argument.

I went to the a couple of Mandeville games earlier in the year and the kid either missed an extra point or Field goal in every game that i saw. Mandeville lost to St Pauls because the kid missed two easy field goals. This kid has Wade Richey 2.0 written all over him.

LSU already has Jack Gonsoulin who was allegedly kicking 65 yarders at Catholic in HS. He was a freshman this yr.
