Totally unfair..so much so that we're gonna try like hell to stop it.

Tony Upchurch has LSU as his #1 right now.

"My top school right now is LSU. But I'm still keeping my eyes open. I'm not going to shut my eyes on others and focus on just one college," Upchurch said. "With LSU, I love the fan base, love their coach. I Love the offense and the way they gel as a team. I just like LSU. With Texas, I like their coaches too. They have good facilities there and it's a good college. We took a tour around and I like that. You could add A&M but those two (LSU and Texas) are really my top two

Thanks gator21. I changed up the order of the TE's and reflected his offer.

Was only a matter of time. Glad the tweaked hamstring didn't delay the offer.

Captain Crown,

I think Upchurch and Cameron Hampton will be going way up in the recruiting rankings soon.

Thanks for the site, I know this took a great deal of work, and it is appreciated.

I don't want to be a grammer nazi, but the word "Committed" is misspelled in the banner of the OP. Just thought you might want to edit b4 you got too much grief.

Thanks for the heads up.

The need for it caught me off guard. Guess I rushed it. Thanks again.

ETA:

Found this Free Rivals article about the 2014 DB class in Texas.

Nearly every kid mentioned in the article has an LSU offer or wants one.

Best part of the article considering LSU has a chance at both:
quote:

"If I had to rank them right now, Brown and Paris would be the two battling for the top spot," Perroni said. "Eddie Paris is a big kid (6-foot-2, 188 pounds). He's built like a safety, but he plays cornerback. He wants to play corner at the next level. Even if he doesn't, he'll be a great cover safety. He's fast. He's big. He moves really well in coverage. He changes direction well. "Tony Brown isn't quite as big [6-1 and 185], but he tested at 4.39 in a camp, which is ridiculous for his size. He's great in press coverage. A lot of kids want to give some cushion, but he can press and jam you at the line of scrimmage and he's also going to run with you downfield.'' They are big-time players with big-time goals.

What is different about the Texas DB class this year:
quote:

"There's usually probably three or four Texas DBs in the Rivals250," Rivals.com Texas recruiting analyst Brian Perroni said. "I could honestly see 13 or 14 (in 2014). Five of the top 10 players in the state could be defensive backs. It's just ridiculous. There's never been anything close to this in the state of Texas."

"I think the Texas defensive backs [in 2014] are probably more polished than the guys in Florida," Perroni said. "Texas traditionally produces offensive linemen, quarterbacks, receivers. Florida is DB and wide receiver heaven, whereas in Texas it's more all-around. It's definitely rare that Texas could even come close to being on the same level as Florida as far as defensive backs are concerned."

Where some came from:
quote:

Paris and Collins are former running backs who moved to the secondary just before high school because it gave them a better chance for early playing time.

As soon as all these guys started playing defensive back, the talent level in this class became apparent. "I think [people] noticed it a long time ago," Paris said. "My freshman year, a bunch of kids in Texas were getting offers."

The competition among the 2014 Texas defensive backs started at an early age. Brown remembers running against many of these guys in youth track meets as a kid. Then he started seeing all these familiar faces once he started participating in football camps.

i'll be honest, i thought Daub was a long shot, at best.... still a LONG way til he signs on the dotted line, and it's not over by a long shot, but if we keep him, that could be a major hook in the state of Florida for LSU for a long time coming....

Keenan Brown and Armanti Foreman are two WRs that have an icon by their names.

It is a p&g square with the state of Texas outline with LSU written on the state.

There are other players from Texas on this list so can you tell me what it means?

When I started the thread Keenan and Armanti were two of the eight guys in the top 20 of the 2014 Lone Star 100 that were interested (listed) LSU. The list on page one started out with mostly Louisiana prospects. I was looking for guys to add so when I pulled the LS 100 up and saw them, I added them in. Basically wanted the LSU fans to know about everyone that was showing interest. Did they make a camp this summer?

In my third post on page three of this thread I linked the list and told how I was putting the little picture next to their info letting people know these Texas guys were interested in LSU. I just made up the little outline of Texas with LSU on it. The number next to the picture was where they were rated.

There are actually seven other guys from the LS 100 that list LSU now. I never went in and added the picture next to their info.

Brosette getting national attention.

quote:

Several running backs from the class of 2015 already have impressive offer sheets, including Jacques Patrick and Damien Harris.

However, the early favorite for the nation's most sought-after running back in the class of 2015 could be Nick Brossette.

Every under 6' CB wants to be Mathieu. He is a rock star after his sophomore year in college.

I'm no expert at evaluating these guys. Think he's a solid CB but can only hope he'll be a future rock star. Have seen some experts say he's a lot like Ron Brooks coming out of high school. Lots of speed and quickness.
