I already miss hearing about the stud recruits visiting spring practice so I thought it might be time to update the wishlist ...

QB – Cooper Bateman – I know he’s from Utah, but watching him throw reminds me of the feeling I got sneaking the Sears catalog up to my room as a kid

WR – Eldridge “Tiger” Massington – Kid is tall, fast, has good hands, and is a little underrated. Personally, I think he has more upside than Terrance Tolliver had coming out
Quantavious Leslie – Has Coach Miles, Henry, and the department chair of experimental statistics salivating

TE – Desean Smith – Much needed

OL – Don’t have a great idea who the staff is targeting here so I need help on this one

DL/LB – RN – Gumps saying they have him locked down, but still praying he turns out to be the Anti-Collins
Gilmore – Seems to have a great mix of intelligence, maturity, and badass.
Tim Williams – Could eventually be the local version of the big fundamental – nothing flashy but always making plays that count
Melvin Jones – I think we miss on Beckwith and I wouldn’t feel too sad if we picked up Jones. Could end up at LB or DE
T. Pervot – Kid is a predator who I think would fit into our system really well.

DB’s – Leaving it to the board

For DBs, Priest Willis is definitely one that would be on anyone's wishlist. Kid asked LSU if they were interested and three days later he had an offer.

Will have to fight USC for him but I think we have a good shot with our recent DB success. To me, if I was a DB from anywhere in the country, I'm looking at how LSU has had the last two Thorpe Award winners, had their nickel back in New York for the Heisman Award and how Brooks will likely be a 2nd rounder. Not to mention Taylor has become a hot name recently in this year's draft, Reid will likely be a 1st Rounder when he leaves and Simon could potentially be a 1st Rounder as well.

IMO, I wouldn't really call it a "miss."

Sure, they offered him....but meh.

Cooper Bateman on his LSU visit:

I spent two whole days at LSU and it was incredible, Bateman said. This was the one school I spent more than one day at and the thing that stood out was the fan support. They had 45,000 fans for their spring game and the stadium is insane there. I can only imagine what it would be like to play in an actual game there.

They have a great coaching staff and my mom and I were really comfortable with them. We had dinner with Coach Miles and his family and it was really cool to get to know him on a personal level. I also got to sit in on the quarterback meetings and talked a lot with coach Kragthorpe and Studrawa and that was great as well.

Kragthorpe has been one of our best hires in awhile, close to being along the lines of Frank Wilson. To do everything he is doing with his health is just remarkable. Every QB that has visited or talked to him has fallen in love with him and how he coaches. Outside of possibly Ensminger, this is a coaching staff I would love to keep together. I know that won't happen but this is one hell of a staff

I agree, now if we can get some on field production from our QBs to back up his efforts, it should help even more. I expect the production to begin in a few months.

Does anyone know if Massington is coming back to LSU one of these coming weekends to hopefully get his offer? Thought I heard rumors.

Even though he got cold feet at the end, Gunner Kiel. Krag basically reeled him in on his own. Yeah, he didn't come here but we would have never been in the picture for him if Crowton was around

then we wouldn't have wasted a bunch of time on him and lost miller. again, i like krag a lot BUT he needs to close of barrett or bateman to EARN high respect.

I doubt he goes that high. But maybe 3rd-4th.

I think I just got him and Taylor mixed up, but the gist was that he will likely be a productive played in the NFL

Yeah, Taylor is getting a lot of 2nd round buzz which is great to see.

Anyways, for Brooks to be the 4th CB for his entire career and go in the top 3-4 rounds is pretty ridiculous.

For my preferences, I'd go with:

OL - Kenneth Santa Maria
TE - Desean Smith
WR - (no one else)
QB - Devante Kincade
TB - Adam Taylor

DT - Greg Gilmore
DT - Justin Manning
DE - Tim Williams
DE - Demarcus Walker

LB - Kendall Beckwith (his speed doesn't bother me)
LB - Reggie Chevis

DB - Rickey Jefferson
DB - Priest Willis

I think that would make for 21 total signees...

Where do we stand with Connor Mitch? I thought his tape looked really good. Seems his only weaknesses were things a good position coach like Krag could work on.

if we take kincade we need another QB to go with him.

Why?? Kincade is the most complete drop-back QB on our list. Okay, I guess we could add in some dual-threat kind of guy (as some kind of a change-of-pace), but Kincade isn't a bad runner himself.

really? I thought he was more of an ATH/Dual threat QB. He's only 6'0.
