Been lightly raining for a long time now, with occasional heavier rain. There are some pine needles down in my yard.

No major problems here yet, though Columbia is a good bit further west and will likely get hit harder.

I'm still alive. I know the board has been worried.

Just as an aside, I'm kinda over all the "land mass" complaints.

I'll use land mass as long as it bugs some of the people in Mis... Uh, I mean land mass.

It bugs me but not because "Oh, no one cares about MISSISSIPPI" but b/c people are whining about it all over my FB and everywhere else. Some peeps going to get their status updates blocked (now THAT'S a threat. ).

ETA: It's raining here. Not real windy. I still got power, which is the most important thing. If I don't have power for Saturday, then I may not be able to find the will to live.

I'm just hoping LSU still plays Saturday and that the roads are clear to get there. I have season tickets this year.

Yeah, no LSU on Saturday night would be sad as well.

Also, still raining and not real windy here.

Really starting to pick up more now. Wouldn't be surprised if I lost power soon. Lights are flickering some.

Checking in. North of Hattiesburg, it's raining. And . . . . that's about it.

Wind is starting to pick up here in downtown. Twitter says some gusts are tropical storm strength and there have been some power outages on 4th Street.

Lost power here in Oak Grove about 8:00 PM, but PRVEPA had it back on in about 45 minutes. Haven't really had a lot of wind until about an hour and a half ago when the power went out. Lots of limbs down in the yard, but no trees yet. Just lots and lots of rain....there will be a lot of roads flooded tomorrow when the branches and creeks start to rise. According to Weather Underground's Storm Total Surface Rainfall Accumulation Map, we've had 8-10 inches of rain in our area.

Stay safe everyone! Remember to save some beer for the LSU Game Saturday!

Never lost power here in downtown.

Still some feeder bands that are going to come through the rest of the morning and maybe even tomorrow afternoon.

There is major flooding today in the Oak Grove area. The branches and creeks have risen pretty high and there are some road closures. A couple of roads near our sub division are closed: Slade Road is totally washed out and Whiddon Road off of Old Hwy 11 is totally covered with water. Here are pics of Slade and Whiddon Roads:
