What is growing at the base of my tomatoes?

Yep, dog vomit slime mold (lovely name, ain't it?).

ETA: It isn't bad, shouldn't harm your plants, and is beneficial in some ways. It just looks......nasty. It used to pop up in my leaf litter/leaf mold area after a rainy stretch.
