Vinyl siding & foam insulation

Going to install vinyl siding on the side of the house.
I see there is vinyl siding with foam insulation already made onto it.
Is this type vinyl siding better or is it better to just install 4x8 sheets of foam insulation and then go install vinyl siding on top of the sheets?

Kinda sorta.
I am not really stuck primarily on the cost issue.
Is there another alternative?
I had to replace some termite damaged walls and went back in with pressure treated plywood.
I want it to look good and be well insulated.
Just looking for some ideas.
