Looking at a Hustler Raptor X, Bad Boy ZM, And Big Dog Alpha 42” unit. They are all about the same price point 3000-3300 between the brands. I have about a half acre to cut, so nothing very large. Any of you have experience with any of these or other suggestions?

You don't need a ztr for 1/2 acre

I've had a Hustler for 11 years. Other than a deck bearing, it's been great. Don't know much about the Raptor though. I have a mini-Fastrak (42" cut).

I understand that. It’s a want rather than need.

Looking at the specs and kawasaki engine on the Hustler Raptor X, I would think that would last you a LONG time on an 1/2 acre! And super quick cuts!

I know it wasn’t one of your options but I’ve got a gravely ZTR 42. Best mower I’ve ever owned.

Year 6 with the same mower. Zero issues and still gives a beautiful cut!

My brother just bought the Bad Boy. It is legit. Has the Kohler, not the Kawasaki, but it is really stout and I like the design of it.

No, but for my half acre I've used:

-push mower
-old Murray "tractor style" riding lawn mower
-42" ZTR

Wanna guess which one didn't make me wanna bang my head against a solid object?

Yep, the ZTR.

And a half acre ain't shite....until you just got off work, that afternoon shower is coming and you absolutely have to cut the jungle.

I just bought the Hustler raptor X 42” and love it. I cut about half an acre plus my parents yard. It’s smooth and fast. I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I picked up a Hustler Raptor X 42” this morning. All of those zero turns are pretty difficult to find in stock. The dealers really have no clue as to when more will arrive. I got pretty lucky finding this one. Happy hunting to all that are in the market.

I got the Ikon xd 52 last year. Zero complaints at all, well put together and satisfied for the price.

I have a hustler raptor sd. It has been great but doesn’t throw wet grass at all. I have bungee cord so I can lft the safety up a bit.

Half acre you can mow in minutes...then drive around for an hour inspecting it...and your trees will thank you for the zt.
