I need to remove a door to get a desk out of a room. Do I need to put anything in the screw holes to reconnect the door when I'm done since they will be going back into the same holes? Wasn't sure if I should be putting some sort of putty or fill to give it a little strength since those screws won't be gripping fresh wood when they go back in...if that makes any sense

Nah, if they aren't stripped already and if you don't overtighten them going back they will be fine. Sometimes there will be an extra long screw for extra holding so keep track of which hole it came out of.

I guess its a super tight fit and you can't just take the pins out of the hinges? I would much rather do that than risk the minor damage to the mortises and paint that comes from unscrewing hinges. Close the door and tap up the pins. Slightly open the door and hold firmly to pull away.

Don’t unscrew hinges. Just pull pins out of hinge.

If you have to unscrew and you want to fill the holes, use a golf tee, hammer it in a few times and cut it flush, can dip them in wood glue if you really want to

Did this with an old door hole.. Cover the golf tee with super glue/gorilla glue, hammer into the hole, then hammer off the end of the tee.

I use kitchen matches or even toothpicks, but golf tees are the best.
But who has golf tees laying around?
