We squeegee our glass after each shower. It helps. If I didn't the wife would bitch at me so I comply.

50/50 blue dawn and vinegar, spray it on there, leave it sit while you clean the rest of the bathroom, and spray it off using shower head. I do that once a week in addition to daily squeegeeing and my glass is spotless almost all the time.

This ^^

I heat the vinegar in the microwave before I mix the dawn to help thin it out a little but it works great.

The people that owned our house before us didn’t keep up with the shower door. Nothing would take it off. Tried vinegar and dish soap, bar keepers friend, everything people suggested. The only thing that worked for me was something I got off of Amazon called Glasweld Proclean hard water spot remover. It’s not cheap, $25 for a small bottle, but it got all of the water spots off. I don’t think I used half the bottle though, our door is 7’ tall and at least 4’ wide. Then I put RainX on the shower door to make it easier to keep up with.

A little elbow grease and it comes right off.

Also cleans anything chrome or stainless

The last house we purchase add very bad water spot the entire glass. The only thing that worked was oven cleaner. After getting in cleaned w/oven cleaner. Then treated the glass with Rain X. Then use a shower squeegee on glass after ever use. I was also told we could use car wax instead of rain x. Rain x was ez for the wife.

If your water softener is working. Bar Keepers friend works great. This is because those spots are not mineral in nature. But if they are mineral due to softener maintenance a Water spot remover from car supply is your best chance. Another option is glass polish with an orbital polisher. If it's glass

Thanks for the tip. I add salt to the system as needed and get the resin changed out yearly as suggested by the company.

Yeah. I just moved and we put the softener in during construction. We have a door less shower and I was disappointed when I saw spots on the water handles fixtures. Wiped it down with Bar Keeppers friend and like new

I'm interested in preventing spots on my new shower door. Has anybody used a glass sealant? lowes.com

I tried everything in my other house. Waxes, sealants, rain x. etc. Even though you glass is sealed you may not etch the glass but spotting still happens from minerals if you don't wipe it down. Grant it most of the water does run off but what stays behind will spot. Either from minerals or soap scum. That is why our new shower was built door less.

I also have a sealant on my car and while I can get rid of the spotting it still dries.

The glass company that installed mine recommended using liquid soap, ie body wash. still looks good after 10 years
