Hey everyone didn’t know if this was the right board or not but the horse flies are out of control at our house. We have a pond in our backyard and with all the rain lately it’s been worse. Any tips on getting rid of them?? I can’t even grill outside without being attacked by a dozen of them. Thanks for any help!

It doesn’t stop more from coming, but I’ve been on a killing spree lately with my bug-a-salt gun my kids got me for Fathers Day last year. I’ve even killed at least 10 IN my house because the kids still haven’t grasped the concept of keeping the door closed when going in and out.

Had one in my bathroom the other day.

It landed on my leg and rather than smash it I walked outside and flicked it off.

Meantime that sucker bit the heck out of my calf. Next time smash.

Hand them the electric bill and tell them it's coming out their allowance. That may get their attention.

Next time rip it’s head off before you flick it off

Horse flies and fire ants seem to be particularly bad this year.

No lies…I was spreading Bermuda this morning @ 7 am and was running from the bastards. About the size of mosquito hawks too!

One was on my Boxer yesterday
I wanted to kill it so I got the fly swatter & as lightly as I could popped it while telling her I was sorry
Poor thing thought she was in trouble
