Ronk/Crawdude, I have the Hi Yield w/Dimension ready to spread. But tomorrow is calling for 1-2" of rain, so obviously heavy. Would you put down the preemergent today, or do you think that is too much rain?

I’d put it down, and I don’t think 1 or 2 inches of rain is going to be an issue. You’re applying granular product to grass, it’s not going to wash away, the active ingredient dithiopyr is going to be washed into the soil where it will be physically/chemically bound to soil colloids/particles. So unless you think your soil going to wash away (I’m kidding with you) I don’t see a problem

Lawn is roughly 50% greened up 33-3-6. That is roughly tax day. I'll also do another round of prodiamine at this time if not slightly earlier.

4-5 weeks later I'll do 46-0-0.

4-5 weeks later 33-3-6

4-5 weeks later 33-3-6

when we get into summer time like this, do active ingredients really matter or is any fertilizer (ie, not a weed and feed or hybrid type product but strictly a fertilizer) with those percentages good to go?

You don’t have to use the exact numbers. It’s just what I have. 33-3-6 is exact to 16.5-1.5-3 if you put it out at double the rate (they dont make that blend). I put out 33-3-6 at 3lbs per thousand which delivers 1lb on N per thousand. For the 46-0-0 I use 4lbs per thousand. This is a super high concentration but it polymer coated and a controlled release.
