I picked up a bottle of selective herbicide to try to knock back some weeds in portions of my lawn. It has 2,4 D and Quinclorac as the AI’s and says not to apply when daytime temps are above 85F.

Does this mean not to apply WHEN it’s 85+, meaning I can apply later in the evening without issue? Or not to apply at all when the weather is going to be hotter? I wasn’t sure if it had to do with absorption or translocation. Didn’t get a clear answer searching around the google.

Applying to Bermuda and Zoysia lawn.

Pretty sure it means when the average temp is above 85. I use that and MSMA on same grass. I have spot sprayed during the summer. Grass turns brown for about a week and bounces back. Spot application, you're okay, but will have brown spots. I wouldn't spray the entire yard.

What weeds are you trying to kill? Quinclorac and 24D are a strong option if other herbicides can be used. You can do test spot. Spray a small area and wait 48 hours. I would expect some yellowing.

This is what I’m looking at using.

BioAdvanced Weed Killer

I have quite a mix of weeds in the Zoysia. I used some river silt to fill some areas and brought in all kinds of stuff. Haven’t tried to identify them all, but potentially Torpedo grass, dallisgrass, etc. I was targeting finding Quinclorac. Saw this stuff on the shelf and thought to give it a try to knock back some of the trash.

The Bermuda is primarily daillisgrass I believe.
