I've used the cheap 4 foot covers from Lowes/HomeDepot that snap in. Also tried the foam. Last I did the roll outs. Hate them all. Not sure they're better than nothing at all covering the gutters.

Backyard is Pine Trees and Oaks.

Anyone have an option short of getting the super expensive people from TV?

:) Yep Yep. Did it in the dark tonight prepping for rain tomorrow. Do it probably every 6 weeks. The problem I’m having is these cheapies collapse into the gutter and the gradeau goes down with it.

If you cover your gutter with a screen guard, the top will still fill with small shite and clog the holes

Then you have no gutter as the water just runs off the gutter guard.

They are all a scam for the weak

Get up there and clean em

I use Amerimax home products for mine and never had a problem. I try to clean them every few months, but even at their worst never had a problem with water running over. Every now and then one will collapse from the weight of leaves during a good rain, but not that much of an issue.

I’ve been there. Nothing you can do but clean out. Buy a blower attachment and hit them when you do the lawn.

This. Had a house with gutters and lots of oaks. You're only changing the clog up point. At least with no guards you don't see the leaves piled up. If the leaves are that bad, your best low maintenance option is to remove gutters and put in rock gutter / french drain.

Amerimax

Yes the PVC mesh/grate 3 foot ones are what I have up now. They’re adequate I suppose. I was hoping for something that didn’t collapse under pine needles so easy.

Same with me and they have they worked really well, going into year 4, but I don’t have pine trees and I can see where pine needles can be an issue with most gutter guards.

My favorite photographs of your homes ...involve the gardens you are growing in your gutters. Due to my creative photography ....you get a nice informative letter from your insurance carrier. "Clean out your gutters or ...we ignore your water damage claims, due to your agricultural creativity. I have yet to see palm trees or corn stalks in gutters. Bet there is a example of each coming in the next week or two.

Big arse gutters and downspouts clean them monthly the Gards divert to much water when they get clogged might as well not have them.

I've had the steel mesh ones for a few years now. If they didn't work, i was going to take the gutters off. They still get clogged from time to time, but i can handle having to clean them out a little bit 2 or 3 times a year.

I really think the best option is to just not have gutters for people that have lots of trees. I'd rather fill the hole in the ground every so often whereever the water is dropping than deal with cleaning gutters constantly.

I bought some nice steel wire ones a year ago and they have been great. With that being said I don't have to deal with pines or small leaves so it was perfect for my oaks.

I had wire guards on my last house, however the holes in the mesh pattern were large. This caused pine needle tips to get stuck so whenever I'd blow the roof off there would be pine needs randomly sticking off the gutters all around the roof line. It annoyed the shite out of me. Get the finest mesh screens you can find.
