This grows in just one patch in the yard. Rest of yard is St. Aug

I don't know what it is, but I have it too, mixed in with my St. Aug.

Send the pics for ID to Dr. Ron Strahan, turf and weed extension specialist and professor, LSU AgCenter rstrahan@agcenter.lsu.edu. Let us know what he thinks.

Deeprig, you were right. Dr. Strahan said that’s exactly what it is, dogshit grass!!
Seriously, he said Southern Watergrass and
“There is no selective removal in st aug unfortunately. This area is staying too wet.
Improve drainage if possible and kill off watergrass with glyphosate. This area should be re-sodded after the drainage is fixed. You will have to address the drainage or the watergrass will come back.”

Polaris works great on southern watergrass. I understand that it is a weed but it soft as shite and I'd like to see a fully managed lawn of it.
