Florida Approves 8 new companies for homeowners insurance

They look like new companies and not likely to be rated by AM Best. KBRA seems to rate them as does Demotech

It’s not their fault no one is underwriting coastal right now.

You can’t just order them to do business in your state.

Getting the legal aspects of the issue in check would be a great step in the right direction however.

One insurance company just quit writing policies in Texas.

As long as governments keep allowing, if not encouraging, building in high-risk areas... this will never improve...
