Hm. I have some plastic tubs that I might flip over them with some pavers on top to hold them in place instead of using the sheets. I wish I hadn't broken down and gotten rid of all the Christmas boxes already!

ETA: Nevermind, read that using plastic is worse than using nothing at all. I guess I'm back to sheets and prayers

Two year old Satsuma. Been in a pot, but planted it this Fall. I covered it with a grill cover, then wrapped with a couple of blankets. Oh, and a mound of mulch around the base with pipe insulation up the stalk.

With that, will I need artificial heat in CENLA? If so, can I just shove body warmers under there, or do I need to run a light?

Do you have some non LED christmas lights? If so just wrap them around the tree then wrap with insulation, it will keep it toasty

I brought into my enclosed garage a number of potted plants, including some crape myrtles that I haven't planted yet.

Around here it may get to single digit temperatures, especially by my house since I'm in a lower area than others right around me.

Thus, I even covered my water meter out by the road.

Going out of town Saturday. If I turn my water off as a precaution, do I need to do anything to electric water heater in attic?

Just make sure both hot and cold lines to the water heater have pipe insulation on them, otherwise nothing special needed for just the water heater.

You can use an old towel and wrap it up tight. I did this during the last freeze on one of my faucets. Wrapped it around the faucet and then ran a good bit of electrical tape around it to hold the towel on tight. Worked great.
