What is the best time to plant crepe myrtles that are about 6ft in height ?

I’ve planted small ones I’ve dug up from my yard but this project will include buying large ones from a nursery.

Just don't plant them too close to your house or sidewalk. They're pretty messy at times.

Avoid planting them anywhere around your house, especially your driveway. They are beautiful trees, but very messy.

They can be beautiful trees but there are many other native trees out there that look great.

Southern Crabapple (same as crepe myrtles, keep away from driveways/walking paths)
Dogwood (shade)
Tulip Poplar (bigger than a crepe)
Silverbell (shade)

This right here. Planted two along the driveway. Now 15 years later, we have to deal with aphid droppings on the car.

On the plus side, I may order a thousand ladybugs to unleash carnage on them next year.

Thanks everyone. I’m familiar with the trees and have them in other areas. The areas I’m putting them will work out just fine.

I’ve just never planted larger ones.

We plant year round in Florida. Water it in and keep watering if it has leaves.
