Looking for something way more potent than ortho home defense. Any recommendations for just basic bugs ants, roaches, silverfish etc.? Does anyone in Baton Rouge have a good selection or should I order online?

Anything with bifenthrin is a good general pest control product. Talstar is one of the more popular brand names.

Tractor supply, Northern Tools, and Site One will have it.

Suspend SC works great, is relatively safe around pets and doesn’t smell. Bifen works but stinks. Pestop in BR has it or it’s available on Amazon

I alternate spraying Talstar and Bifen. I'm now convinced that most pest control companies dilute their chemicals so they have to come back every month. I haven't seen many pests since I started spraying myself.

I have used Do Your Own in the past for purchases, but I've found Solutions Pest and Lawn to be significantly cheaper. FYI.

Talstar and bifenthrin are the same product. These products last about 30 days. If you aren’t seeing bugs it’s because there isn’t any insect pressure or you’re lucky

DemonMax, got it on Amazon. 1/2 ounce per gallon in a sprayer, treat in the Spring and Fall. Kills the shite out of every insect.

I use Suspend inside and Suspend and Talstar together outside. I just order online.

I didn't realize they were the same. I'm not lucky. Before I began spraying myself I'd see 5-6 roach carcasses per month. Now I might see 1 once every three months. So I'm either spraying more diligently or my chemicals are greater ppm. Or a combination of both. This is in Alabama, btw. The only issue I've had previously in SLC were ants, and those have been eradicated so I haven't even needed to spray here in the past 6 months.

(edit) I just looked at the labels of Talstar and Bifen. You are obviously correct. Even the 7.9% of the Bifin is the same. Maybe they're like Coke and Pepsi though and one just tastes a little bit different than the other.

The one I posted above is 25%

Pretty stout.

FYI. I sprayed my entire yard with Talstar. My dog stated having seizures. Maybe an odd coincidence , but it stopped a couple days later.

I’ve got a bottle of BifenXTS just like you posted the link for. It’s pretty bad a$$ on every kind of bug, including termites. It’s about 3 times more potent than most Bifen products. Well worth the money.
