If so what do you have?

I don't own one, yet, but I see a lot of Exmark ones used by the bigger lawn services around here. They are expensive though, but if it's only for your own yard it would probably be the last one you'd ever need to buy.

I'm looking at Exmark, Scag and Bad Boy. I'm thinking it would last many many years.

Exmark xSeries is pretty much what I see aside from a few Snappers and the occasional Honda. I think I could actually build a solid commercial-grade walk behind out of an aluminum deck Toro and buying a $450 Kawasaki motor to swap out the crappy B&S motor for. That's $1400 and some time but still cheaper than an Exmark. The FJ180V-CM22 has the same bolt pattern and PTO has a Honda, Predator, and several other brands and is an extremely solid engine. Much cheaper than a Honda GX too.

The Kawasaki is a good engine. Any reviews on the Kohler Command Pro?

Waste of money. Just get a Honda and don’t over think it, I’ve been there done that with where you are. Sure, it’s better. If you are running it 5 days a week. For a 1-2 hour a week mow don’t overthink it and buy a Toro or Honda.

Snapper Hi Vac, Kawasaki jv180 engine, I’ve had it 10 yrs, I think it’s a 2010-ish model. It will eat but I again find myself looking at the 30” Toro and now Scag.

Every round I’d make with a 30 I’d gain 45% vs the 21. They are costly, however.

To add, with the hi-vac blade that bitch will suck up some leaves. I run an “x” blade on it and mulch normally.

I have a $300 push mower from Lowes that I’ve never changed the oil in and has been going strong for 7 years now.

Seems like a product where you just buy the cheapest and dispose of every 10 years.

I have a Toro that was given to me, very used, over 10 years ago. Every year I change the oil, sharpen the blade, and change the air filter. If it starts running rough I spray some carb cleaner in it. It’s so old the plastic wheels rotted off and I had to replace them. Runs like a top though.

Something to do with the cam, lot of failures so they pulled inventory and instructed retailer with affected models not to sell units. The Home Depot here has zero available and boxes of them on the back dock in cages.

Old ones are great. I wish I had kept my old Toro from the mid-1990's, 6hp B&S I/C flathead. Newer mowers are no where near the quality unless you spend a lot of money and even then the new engines suck. Plastic carbed B&S engines that tell you just to add oil and never have to change it just screams throw-away engineering. If my HRN ever dies I am going to put a Kawasaki engine on the deck and keep it going.
