Why does TD not allow user to user private messaging?

It would ruin the board. There is certainly value to it, but it would kill so much dialogue.

Because the owners of the site would lose clicks on their site's pages and that would hurt advertising rates.

I do it with a friend of mine all the time. If you understand html it’s pretty easy to figure how to private message
