I propose a new rule on the boards

I propose that an additional rule should be created where violation is ban worthy.
That rule should be that you cannot post pictures with heinous quotes or simply heinous quotes attributable to regular non-famous people without some sort of verification that they are true.
There is a thread on the poli board right now with a Marine Private's picture coupled with pretty bad quote. Interestingly, this picture/quote seem to be virtually nowhere else on the net other than another FB page not connected to the Marine private.
Now, this kid may have actually posted what he's quoted as posting, but damn, can we not be in the business of trying to ruin random people with bull shite?

Further evidence in that thread indicates that worse than spreading BS, it is pretty likely the OP actually CREATED the BS.

If you'll look at this OP though, you'll note that my point is, we can't be posting horrible shite attributed to REGULAR people with no evidence to support it other than some pic given that it's not exactly a friggin secret that such things can be faked.
It isn't matter of knowing he made it up. Real people shouldn't their character assassinated online by random anonymous dudes on TD when no evidence supports the assertion.
And no, that the person really exists on FB isn't "evidence" that an attributed quote is real. I mean, I would hope we all realize that.

Yup.
I just think there really should be a rule saying that you can't post heinous shite and attribute non-public people without any real evidence.
This is one of the worst aspects of the internet. You character can be assassinated and go round the world before you even know it.
If someone picked that shite up, spread it elsewhere, then suddenly, it went viral, it would NEVER go away. Even if the person didn't say it, he would always find himself defending it.
And, shite like that STARTS with one person spreading stuff they can't at least SORT OF prove.
