Emote 'Field' Disappears??

Can someone offer a helpful explanation or 'fix' as to why my emoticon 'field' disappears after I click on one of them? This just started about 10 days ago...I have tried logging out and back in, cleaning out history and stuff....

Did you update your browser at all in that time?
What are the specs of your graphics card?
Have you run any spyware detection?
Why would people say that with a tech question on the help board?

don't think so....
I DID shut everything down last week so my computer would recognize my printer again....and they are now communicating again...

Restart your computer and thumb through a copy of "HTML Troubleshooting for Old fricks" while you wait for 247 icons to load in your system tray.

The cutters started it...
.. and the re-start did NOT help...as soon as I clicked this emote the field disappeared....Any other suggestions, guys?
