Distorted board layout

I have a laptop running IE11 browser. a few weeks back I started having a strange phenomenon on this board where about half way down the thread, the board gets narrow and scrunches up all of the contents of each post up so bad that you can't read it. it is pretty damn strange in that it never happens at the top of the thread and it happens on every board here...
it started suddenly a few weeks back and I hadn't changed any settings before it happened.
anyone have an idea what would be causing this?
