Exercise with injured rib

I got sick in mid January with a cough and somehow injured a rib on my lower right side during this time. I stopped lifting in an effort to rest my rib and let it heal faster, but it’s been 4 weeks and it’s still hurt (though not as much pain as before).
After 4 weeks of rest, is it probably far enough along in the healing process that I can go back to lifting, or will this make it worse?
