Hey fellas, been looking for a decent watch to track my steps/calories/HR because my companies health insurance has incentives with daily steps and such now. But I want one that has a few smartphone features as well (can see texts, emails, etc.). Not a huge fan of fitbit fwiw, but im open to suggestions. TIA!

Sorry if a similar thread is posted.

At $150 the best bet is the Fitbit blaze.

If you want it to be more watchish, garmin forerunner 230 is 150-190 in some places.

Garmin just came out with the vivosport as well. Looks more like a Fitbit charge but with better screen and features.

Found a 230 with yellow band for 140 on eBay for buy it now. Will probably get that and order black 10$ replacement band.

Thanks for the tip.

It's a good watch. One of my favorite things I own. I'll probably move to a Fenix 5 or vivomove3 in a year or two but in the meanwhile it keeps me rocking.

ETA: shite. Is heart rate super important? I missed that. 230 doesn't have it. 235 does.

I have a Gear Fit 2, mostly for light fitness and light smart features. I have no complaints. Tracks sleep, has gps, steps, heart beast, water, alarm, connectsto my scale, caffeine, works with samsung health and myfitnesspal. Sends my calls, texts, email to my wrist. Battery life is the negative as its only 3 days but i charge it when i shower so not a prob. Looks nice too.

But if you want one for pure fitness purposes, get the Fitbit Charge 2 or Garmin. The Charge has better software Garmin better hardware.

You android or ios?

I bought the Garmin Forerunner 230 about 2-3 months ago. It was a great purchase, you won't regret your decision.

Yea well I ordered it then canceled and ordered this one instead. Cheaper and seemed to have all the features the 230 had.

understood. i like the featureset of the VA more than the forerunner, it's just an ugly watch to me. i know the 230 isn't sexy, but i can wear it every day.

if you're only going to wear it exercising, then no whammy. that's why i'm interested in the vivoactive 3. just have to wait for it to dip under 300 in a year or so.

i like everything i've seen about the vivosport except that it looks like a fitbit. i'm just a watch wearer. i can't even do an apple watch because it doesn't look like one to me.
