I am a new member at Pelican Point and always looking for new people to play with. I like the course but also enjoy playing Santa Maria.

I haven't been there in about a month because of work. I'm playing this afternoon and will let you know after.
But, normally they are hard and pretty slow. Don't expect a nice course and it can be enjoyable. It's a good course for a scramble. I thought about playing in that tournament tomorrow but I have to do yardwork instead
ETA why the frick are they holding that tournament in Crowley? The downturn is real

And on Memorial day weekend. This is the first year there.
All of the previous tournaments were at Spanish Trails in Cade.

Not a fan of that course at all. I live across the street and maybe played there 3 times in 9 years.
Willowfork but considering a move to Falcon point. The social aspect of WF is better than FP though.

How's this course?

Meh.
Never played there outside of a scramble.
Layout is Ok.
Greens are mediocre.
Couple of tough par 5's because you can't see where your ball lands on your tee shot.

I like bayou bend more than Spanish trail fwiw
A long hitter can overpower the course as long as they stay out of the trees. Putts generally don't break as much as they look like they will, except for a few spots on some of the greens. Be aggressive and putt past the hole, especially in a scramble. They seem to be rolling pretty well according to the ninth green which I just practiced on.
Like I said earlier don't come here with high expectations of a nice course and y'all will enjoy it
