I played this course when it was first built about 30 years ago. I remember enjoying it even though it technically still under construction.
Has anyone payed it lately? Wonder what condition it’s in.
Also, for those of you who have played the real holes it mimics, how does it compare? Is is legit or just a gimmicky course?

Haven't played in a year or so. They've built a bunch of houses which change the feel considerably.

The Bay Hill hole feels similar. The Disney hole isn't very close. The Colonial hole is terrible. The Merion hole ok as is the Oak Tree hole.

Played it a few years ago on a Saturday.. Was in decent shape. Felt very touristy tho and was nearly a 6 hour round. They sent people off the front and the back which made things a cluster at the turn.

Worth playing once I guess. Wouldn’t make it a habit.

The hole that replicates 11 at Augusta sucks. The real hole has an elevated fairway, but this one just has a mound at the start of the fairway to give the appearance of an elevated fairway. At least, that’s how it was 10 years ago.

Played it after it had been open a few years. Was in great shape, and some of the holes were awesome (No. 12 at Augusta, No. 17 at TPC, Par 5 at Bay Hill). Went back a few years ago and it didn't have the same feel.

I played it back in October and I was very surprised at how good of shape it was in. It was also a Thursday. So, the course wasn't packed. I'm not sure how it is holding up in the winter, though.

I played the one in The Colony (DFW) and it was in good shape and pretty fun. Also played The Tribute which was really cool. It’s been a few years though, so can’t speak to conditions

Played there last summer and it was fine.

Don't know if true or not, but a rumor going around was they were changing the Sawgrass hole because it was too expensive to maintain.

I played it at the beginning of January. Midweek for $45ish with a cart. It was worth that but not much more. Greens were ok and fairways were serviceable. I wouldn’t pay weekend prices for the mediocre condition.

I’ll never forget being 5 hours in on the 14th tee box and leaving so I could make my Saturday evening plans. The slowest round of all time and I’ve played some places frequented by “new golfers” circa 2000…you know what I’m talking about.
