Also known as "little Augusta". Anybody play it/a member?

Played it for the first time ever yesterday and couldn't join it fast enough.

East Ridge and Southern Trace have always been viewed as the nicest course in the Shreveport/Bossier/surrounding area, but TCC was better than any of them imo. Greens are almost perfection. Course is just perfectly manicured, sand traps were lush, and beautiful azaleas all over the course. Great layout with a variety of yardages, I used all 14 clubs which doesn't happen at most courses. Overall really impressed.

It's exactly an hour from my house so I won't play as much as I did last year at Stonebridge which was 10 minutes from the house, but I was really disappointed in Stonebridge last year given how cheap the owner is. Green took forever to come around, some of them didn't, and now they are letting the fairways turn into hardpan and not keeping the bunkers up. The convenience isn't there for me anymore but I just decided I'd rather play half as much on a much nicer course.

You get a membership at Northridge CC along with it but I haven't played there yet, not sure if it's any good.

You live close to me. I’ve thought about this option lately. Stobebridge has taken a nose dive and I think I’d rather drive to Texarkana than get to either East Ridge or Southern Trace. When the kids get a little older I think I’ll make the move. Always loved that course since I was a kid.

I played both courses as a ClubCorp member when Cypress Bend was still on that program. Both courses are very nice. TCC is just a lot more convenient to Shreveport/Bossier. Only 5 minutes (at most) off I-49. Northridge is another 15-20 minutes away, but the fact that you can play both with your membership is very attractive.

Great course for sure. And with I-49 being open now, you can get there in about the same time it would take to go from North Bossier down to Trace.

Yea I've always thought Southern Trace was overrated, even with the new greens, which are really nice. Just a pretty bland layout. After the remodel they increased their rates pretty good. Them and East Ridge are pretty similar in price, about a 5k buy in and $500 a month plus misc. fees. That's what TCC is for resident members but for non resident members it's 1.5k buy in and $225 a month. The GM gave me %75 off the buy in and with a range plan my monthly note is $250. Without a cart plan, Stonebridge is pretty much the same price. The hour drive isn't ideal, but it's an easy trip and the difference in quality is night an day. Not counting the pool, tennis court, restaurant amenities. Stonebridge also made me mad with putting range balls up at 5:00 even when the days are longer. One of the things I liked to do was go hit range balls after work and if I can't even do that, there is no benefit to it other than convenience.

I will say, a membership to the David Toms academy that goes along with East Ridge is a pretty nice perk. But I just feel like they are overpriced because they know they can get away with it because they are the only private courses. I mean they are close to Squire Creek membership prices.

That's good to hear that Northridge is also nice. I'm looking forward to playing it. Seems like most say TCC is definitely the better course but it is pretty cool if the change of pace course is nice too.
