Today. And they were going to host our league championship on Friday and Saturday. This tournament has been scheduled for months. Didn't even have the courtesy to tell us.
We've been hosting tournaments there for 10 years now.
Word is they aren't doing well financially. Well guess what? Enjoy not making the the 5 grand we were gonna bring this weekend.
This seriously couldn't wait until Monday?

I'll say that I'm from Thibodaux, and it's the closest fully private club to me.

I know it sucks but they probably have been looking for decent weather to do it for quite some time and this was their first opening.
Your clubs 5K is just a lil piece of the pie in the whole scheme of things

Atchafalaya is more fun anyway.

Totally get that. But to not even bring it up when we've had multiple conversations with them this week?
The president of this anonymous club told someone we were the "sacrificial lamb". Total bullshite.
Its been raining all this week too. No reason it couldn't be done Monday. They weren't gonna lose the greens in a few days with all this rain.

South LA is a tough place for the golf business. Difficult customers that have high standards but low budgets.

We're pretty easy...
We schedule our events a year in advance. We show up, don't ask for a thing from the host club other than a block of tee times and a couple of proximity markers. We play at a good clip. We spend a lot of money with the cart service and the 19th hole. We pay our bills and then we leave. Then we come back year after year with more players than the year before.
Oh and don't punch the greens two days before our biggest event of the year without telling us. I guess that's too much to ask though.
All good.

If you have had a great time for 10 years, I wouldn't let one year ruin it.
I also wouldn't believe hearsay related to golf course drama. "Club President said..." These places can be soap operas and most of the time what was said was taken out of context or not said at all.
Also, it is important to know whether they had any tournaments next week. The President may be right and someone was going to get screwed. Your tournament or another. Plus, with this rain it is hard to get anything done on a golf course.
You do have one good point, they should have called you to discuss and smooth things over.

Our league is playing Atchafalya this weekend
I hope the greens are good. It has been spotty the last couple of years

I've heard they're good except for a couple of usual suspects...2 especially. They are punching until July.
We are playing there Friday afternoon now. Will let you know.

That's fricked up, the sooner they go belly up the better, not a fan of the course or the people associated with it. (Well a few people I know are members are good people, but the assholes outweigh them)

My feelings for this course are well known. That was about the last straw for me. I have no desire to go there ever again. Never wish for a place to go belly up, but it sure wouldn't hurt my feeling. It's not that great of a course. All the holes look the same and its stays wet weeks at a time. And they fricked up their new greens after they spent all that money replanting. Rather drive the extra 20 minutes to atchafalaya anyway. Please someone buy fricking latour

I heard that one of the old pros from Bayou Country Club was putting together a deal to buy La Tour.
